Friday Mid-Day Weather Update

Good morning/afternoon Alabama!! Changes in the Outlook from the SPC: The SPC went ahead and expanded the Enhanced risk (Level 3 out of 5) to all of the State of Alabama. Threats: No changes on the threats as of right now. Winds: A Wind Advisory is in effect for most of Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and parts of Louisiana. Timing: Some changes have been to the timing. Yesterday we were thinking more towards the afternoon, now models are bringing in in a tad earlier. Look at the timing graphic below. Weather Day: Again, we are under a First Alert Weather Day for tomorrow. Level 5 out of 5 on operations level wise. Next blog post here tomorrow by 8AM!!

Thursday Evening Update on Saturday's Severe Weather System

Good Evening Alabama, Let's get right into it regarding Saturday's Severe Weather Day..... Wind Advisory: The Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile NWS offices have issued a Wind Advisory for all of their county coverage area. Changes Out to our West: The SPC has upgraded parts of Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana under a Moderate risk (Level 4 out of 5). Threats: No changes since the last post. Flash Flooding, Hail, Damaging Winds between 65-75mph, lightning, heavy rain, tornadoes (which some could be strong and longed tracked; the strength could be between EF-0 through EF-5s. Timing: Not much change, in timing as of now appears of 10AM through 8PM. 11AM through 4PM for our western counties. 12PM through 7PM for I-65 corridor and down into Montgomery. 3PM through 8PM for our eastern counties. First Alert Weather Day issued for Saturday

Good Morning Alabama! Very breezy out there today!!! Weather Day for Saturday: Our threat for severe weather is increasing not decreasing! As of this morning, I have issued a First Alert Weather Day for Saturday. Activation for all weather instruments and equipment. Timing: As of now appears of 10AM through 8PM. 10AM through 4PM for our western counties. 11AM through 7PM for I-65 corridor and down into Montgomery. 3PM through 8PM for our eastern counties. Threats: Top threat is damaging winds, our second highest threat will be tornadoes. Some could be long-tracked and strong between EF-2 strength to EF-5. Next would be, flash flooding, hail up 1 inch in diameter, and lightning. Watches and Advisory's for Our Area: We will likely see a Flash Flood, and Tornado watch issued for most of the area. Tuesday Afternoon Weather Update on Severe Storms on Saturday

Hello Alabama! It feels so good outside today! No clouds across the great state of Alabama today. Highs today will be between 53-58 degrees, with a few spots may touch 60 degrees across the south parts of Alabama. Lows tonight between 30-37 degrees and a few spots up in North Alabama may reach as low as 29 degrees. Frost will likely tomorrow morning, so make sure you have those plants in tonight. Friday Forecast: Rain chances will start to rise for your Friday. Highs will be in the upper 60s some spots could reach 70 degrees in South Alabama towards the Gulf Coast. Now to the big question. What will happen Saturday? Will we see severe weather? Well severe storms is likely on Saturday. All modes of severe weather is possible with damaging winds, 1 inch size of hail possible, long-tracked tornadoes, flash flooding.
