Hello Alabama!
It feels so good outside today! No clouds across the great state of Alabama today. Highs today will be between 53-58 degrees, with a few spots may touch 60 degrees across the south parts of Alabama. Lows tonight between 30-37 degrees and a few spots up in North Alabama may reach as low as 29 degrees. Frost will likely tomorrow morning, so make sure you have those plants in tonight.
Friday Forecast: Rain chances will start to rise for your Friday. Highs will be in the upper 60s some spots could reach 70 degrees in South Alabama towards the Gulf Coast.
Now to the big question. What will happen Saturday? Will we see severe weather? Well severe storms is likely on Saturday. All modes of severe weather is possible with damaging winds, 1 inch size of hail possible, long-tracked tornadoes, flash flooding. I think we will see a Flash Flood Watch issued for most or all Central Alabama Thursday. Tornado Watch is likely of being issued on Saturday, but the SPC issues that. There is plenty of time that the models could increase or decrease the threat of severe weather. This could be a Significant Severe Weather event this weekend across the whole Deep South. That is why the SPC has most of the Deep South either in a Slight or Enhanced risk for severe weather this weekend. It would not shock me if once we get closer to the event see a Moderate risk issued. We want to URGE you to start preparing NOW NOT FRIDAY!!! Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings. Charge your phone Friday and Friday night in case you lose power. You can still get warnings and weather information. Power Outages are likely as well. There is some graphics below. We will update you throughout the week on this severe weather event coming this weekend. But until this event comes enjoys the awesome weather!!!
Look for the next blog post issued tomorrow by 10AM tomorrow morning!!
