We are watching every second of Tropical Storm Zeta, which is forecast to re-strengthen to a Hurricane in less than 24-36 hours from now.
First Alert Weather Day has been issued starting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28 @ 3pm and running till Thursday, October 29 @ 3pm.
Along with all weather products, activation of second meteorologist, and level of operations at a level 5 has all been issued and signed.
State of Emergency: Governor Ivey has issued a State of Emergency for Alabama. That went into effect at 4pm CST. you can find the order here: State of Emergency for Zeta
Central Alabama Impacts: Wind and rain will be our primary-highest impacts for us here in Central Alabama. Conditions start to deteriorate fast starting around 6pm on Wednesday and ending around mid-dat on Thursday.
Flash Flood Watch was just issued less than 60 mins ago. Rainfall rates anywhere from 2-4 inches with locally higher amounts. Green graphic below
Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for most of Central Alabama. Tropical storm conditions are likely in the watch area. These watches will likely be upgraded to a Tropical Storm Warning later tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. Pink graphic below
Schools: No school closures or moving to remote calls yet. I think that will change tomorrow.
Power Outages appear to be 50/50, so prepare to lose power.
